Do you offer U-Pick. Can I pick blueberries at your farm?2023-11-28T13:31:29+11:00

We don’t offer u-pick at our farm to keep our blueberry bushes safe from a disease called ‘blueberry rust’, which can easily be transferred to our bushes via clothing and shoes. So, to ensure the bio-security of our farm, all our berries are hand-picked professionally, for you to buy by the bucket load or 500g punnets when you visit.

Can I bring my dog to your blueberry farm?2023-09-26T15:27:52+10:00

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome at our blueberry farm – dogs love blueberries too and they are very good for them!

How long do blueberries stay fresh?2023-11-28T13:32:17+11:00

Our blueberries are picked each day and sold to you fresh from our packing shed.  Refrigerate your blueberries when you get them home, either in their original plastic pack or in a covered bowl or container. Be sure to wash your blueberries just before you eat them, and eat them within 10 days of purchase (although they will keep well for up to 3 weeks).  If you are buying berries to freeze – freeze them as soon as possible after purchase.

In addition to blueberries, what else can I buy at your farm?2023-09-26T15:27:52+10:00

As well as delicious blueberries, you can buy a freshly made coffee, ground to order, and roasted locally, or a cold drink from the fridge and there’ll be a selection of

  • blueberry cakes, muffins, and pies, all baked locally by Allen’s Bakery in Kilsyth, using our blueberries
  • frozen blueberries (half kilo punnets – from the end of Jan onwards)
  • jams and preserved fruits using local fruit (figs, blueberries, mixed fruits)
  • when available: our own home-grown tomatoes, figs, nectarines, apricots & cherries
Where can I buy your blueberries?2023-09-26T15:27:52+10:00

You can buy our blueberries direct from us here at the farm in the Yarra Valley, in 500 gram punnets and 1kg buckets. You’ll also see our 125g punnets at supermarkets.

When are the blueberries ripe?2023-09-26T15:27:52+10:00

Blueberries start to ripen at the start of summer.  We grow 10 varieties of blueberries which all ripen at different times.  Also, blueberries grow and ripen at a different rate on each bush, so we continue picking for 3 months from the same bushes – the more we pick, the more the berries grow.  Blueberries don’t ripen once you pick them, they stay pink and they aren’t sweet.  We use professional pickers who know exactly when a blueberry is perfectly ripe and ready to be picked.
